How we filter the data.

All data sourced from theLahman Database, and is organized to display here.

Hitters

All hitters data is currently filtered to include players who have had at least 1 season in which they had at least 1.1 plate apperances per team game. Anyone falling outside that number, is not included in Player Guess.

Pitchers

All pitchers data is currently filtered to include players who have had at least 1 season in which they had at least 1 out recorded per team game or better thought of as having .1 inning pitched per team game. Anyone falling outside that number, is not included in Player Guess.

Game Options

Currently you can select to guess between either hitters or pitchers at any given time. (We may add an option for both in the future). Secondary filter game options include:

• 2000's: (Current Initial/Default Filter) Which is all players that fit the category in the filters described above (see Hitters, or Pitchers), that played in and after the year 2000.
• All: Which is all players that fit the category in the filters described above (see Hitters, or Pitchers)
• 2010's: All players who qualified using above filters, that have played at least 1 season in the 2010's.
• 2020's: All players who qualified using above filters, that have played at least 1 season in the 2020's.
• All-Stars: All players who qualified using the above filter who have made at least 1 All-Star game.
• MVP: All hitter who qualified who have won the MVP award. Currently only includes players who qualified as a hitter in the above hitters filter.
• Cy Young: All pitchers who qualified who have won the Cy Young award. Only Includes players who qualified as a pitcher in the above pitchers filter.
• Year span filters 19XX-19YY: All players who qualified using the above hitter/pitcher filter, who have played at least one season in the range listed.
